Obra ’C’ Extension TPS (2X660MW)

Obra ’C’ Extension Thermal Power Station 2X660MW is being installed with Super Critical Technology on EPC basis by UP Rajya VIdyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. The EPC Contract has been awarded to M/s Doosan Power Systems India Private Limited on date December 22nd, 2016.

This project is located in district SONEBHADRA about 13 KM from CHOPAN railway station, about 8 KM off VARANASI-SHAKTI NAGAR road. It is about 125 KM from VARANASI, which is connected by air/rail and road route from all major cities.

Obra C Thermal Power Plant will be fed by the coal from Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block which will be developed by UPRVUNL. The bridge linkage for the project has also been awarded by the Ministry of Coal for Gap Management until the development of Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block.

Provision of FGD (Flue-Gas Desulfurization) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) has been included in the scope to meet the latest environmental norms.

The scheduled completion time for Unit #1 is 48 months and Unit #2 is 52 months from the date of the award. As on date the Project is delayed and synchronization of Unit 1 and Unit 2 anticipated in March 2021 and July 2021 respectively is likely to be further delayed in view of  Lockdown directives issued by the Government due to spread of COVID-19.

Jawaharpur TPS (2X660MW)

Jawaharpur TPS (2X660MW) is being installed by Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. It is a and is 100% subsidiary of U.P Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. Jawaharpur Thermal Power Station 2X660MW is being installed with Super Critical Technology on EPC basis by Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. The EPC Contract has been awarded to M/s Doosan Power Systems India Private Limited on date December 22nd, 2016.

This project is located in Malawan village, Distt- Etah at Delhi Kanpur National Highway (NH-91) and about 18 km from Etah.

The Thermal Power Plant will be fed by the coal from Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block which will be developed by UPRVUNL. Also, Bridge Linkage for the project has been granted by the Ministry of Coal.

Provision of FGD (Flue-Gas Desulfurization) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) has been included in the scope to meet the latest environmental norms.

The water requirement of the project will be full filled by Lower Ganga Canal.

The Scheduled completion time for Unit # 1 is 48 months and for Unit #2 is 52 months from zero date (22.12.2016). As on date, the project is delayed and synchronization of Unit # I, II anticipated in March’2021 and July’2021 respectively, is likely to be further  delayed, in view of the lockdown directives issued by the Government due to spread of COVID-19.

Panki Extension TPS (1X660MW)

Panki Extension Thermal Power Station 1X660MW is being installed with Super Critical Technology on EPC basis by UP Rajya VIdyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. The EPC Contract has been awarded to M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on date March 31st, 2018.

This project is located in district KANPUR about 15 KM from KANPUR railway station on KALPI road. KANPUR is well connected by air/rail and road route from all major cities.

The Thermal Power Plant will be fed by the coal from Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block which will be developed by UPRVUNL. Also, Bridge Linkage for the project has been granted by the Ministry of Coal.

Provision of FGD (Flue-Gas Desulfurization) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) has been included in the scope to meet the latest environmental norms.

The water requirement of the project will be fulfilled from the Sewage/Effluent Treatment Plants located in Bingawan, Kanpur.

The Scheduled completion time is 46 months from zero date (31.03.2018). However, the work is delayed by few months from schedule mainly due to delayed supplies of materials.  Further delay, in supplies and work is expected on account of lock down due to spread of COVID-19.

Ghatampur TPS (3X660MW)

Ghatampur TPS (3X660MW) is being installed by Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL). It is a Joint Venture of U.P Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited and NLC India Limited. The equity share of UPRVUNL is 49% and the capacity share of UPRVUNL in installed capacity is 64.39% which is equivalent to 1275 MW.

The EPC contract was awarded to M/s L&T MHPS Boilers Pvt Limited and M/s Alstom Bharat Forge Power Limited on August 2nd, 2016. The boiler package for the project is being supplied by M/s L&T MHPS Boilers Pvt Limited and the Turbine-Generator Package is being supplied by M/s Alstom Bharat Forge Power Limited.

This project is located in Ghatampur, Distt- Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block

Ministry of Coal, Government of India has allocated Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block (Schedule-III Coal Block) to UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited in year 2015 to fulfill the coal requirements of UPRVUNL for upcoming new projects. It is located in Dumka district of Jharkhand.

Upcoming projects of UPRVUNL viz. Harduaganj Extension-II (1X660MW), Obra ‘C’ (2X660MW), Jawaharpur (2X660MW) and Panki Extension (1X660MW) will be fed by the coal of Saharpur Jamarpani Coal Block.

M/s UPRVUNL is in process to appoint M/s NLC India Limited, Neyveli  (‘Navratna’ –A Government of India Enterprise) for consultancy & supervisory work for development of this coal block through Mine Developer & Operator (MDO) route.
